Top Home Design Trends

To find the decor ideas you can do in your home, we went straight to our favorite interior design pros. From navy paint and wallpaper to colored cabinets and free-standing tubs, these are the home decor trends that experts love to see! Whether you love trends or will typically go to great lengths to avoid them, there are bound to be a few ideas on our list that you’ll adore (and will continue to adore into the next decade).

Earth Tones

Let's start with color. While blues are always a good choice, embracing earth tones is one of the interior design color trends. Olive green, yellow ochre, and burnt orange are shades that not only bring warmth but also a connection to the great outdoors.

Furniture and accessories that mimic natural elements of wood, plants, and metals offer an opportunity to create a calming environment much like being outside. For many of us spending a lot of time indoors, this is a welcome feeling. This doesn't mean you need to go neutral or too safe! Bold can happen in the form of black doors or a chocolate brown velvet sofa. Incorporating these tones can be creative and offer a uniquely grounded look.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper has been one of those home decorating ideas that have stood the test of time. We're not talking about the granny or hippie variety, but designs that pull from contemporary style and offer a wow factor to any wall. With an appeal for vibrant and contrasting colors, current wallpaper patterns can be found in varying sizes and designs to suit many decor styles.

Vintage Accents

What goes around comes around — especially when it comes to home decor trends. One thing we’re starting to see is more of a nod to vintage and traditional detailing — things like spooled legs, spindles, and other things we saw in furnishings from the 1800s and early 1900s,

But don’t expect to see all vintage everywhere. This time around, designers are incorporating just one or two statement pieces.

Color-Pop Kitchens

An easy way to refresh your kitchen and bring a little pop of color is to paint your cabinets! Paint can work wonders on everything, and kitchen cabinets are no exception. Painting kitchen cabinets can be tiring and you can easily hire a pro to do the job for you, but if you’re up for the challenge and want to save the money, do it yourself.
